Advanced Shipment Notice, usually sent through EDI, notifies the customer about the order, items, quantity, estimated time of arrival, and other physical characteristics of the shipment. The ASN gets uploaded in the client’s warehouse management system. The shipment is then received at the destination after being processed by the transportation management system. ASN minimizes room for human errors and simplifies the inventory management process. It enables the supplier to easily identify and correct shipment errors and the customer to identify any missing goods.
